Camera Obscura im alten Wasserturm von Tavira.
Die Camera Obscura ist vom Prinzip her die einfachste Kamera - bereits Aristoteles beschrieb dessen Funktion im 4.Jh. vor Christus.
Als man den alten Wasserturm in Tavira nicht mehr brauchte, kamen findige Geister auf die Idee, dessen Funktion umzuwidmen und eine Camera Obscura daraus zu errichten. Hierfür wurde in den großen Behälter eine Tür und Treppe eingebaut sowie im Dach ein Loch mit drehbarem Spiegel angebracht. Dieser lenkt das Licht und das Bild um auf einen kreisrunden Tisch in der Mitte des ehemaligen Wasserbehältnisses - dort erscheind dann ein scharfes 360° Rundum-Bild der Umgebung - in Farbe und mit Bewegung (Autos, Fußgänger, etc.)
Ein faszinierendes Erlebnis. Der Eintritt ist nicht zu hoch.
